# Add a free opening message to a script

Create a free first template with a short manually written opening message.

Create an opening step as a regular template placed first in the script. There is no separate Introduction Messages setting in the current editor. You need the Manage templates permission.

## Create the opening template

1.  Select a creator, open CRM > Scripts, and select the script.
    
2.  Choose Add template and enter a clear Template Name.
    
3.  Under Message, turn off AI Mode and write a short opening message.
    
4.  Leave Pricing as Free. Media is optional for this manually written free template.
    
5.  Choose Create Template.
    
6.  Drag the new template to position 1 so it is the first step.
    

## Check the script before use

-   If you later turn on AI Mode for this template, attach at least one media item.
    
-   If the full script is available to AI, the script must still meet the readiness guidance shown in Scripts, including usable templates and the total-price minimum displayed for that creator.
    
-   Keep the opening concise and review how it fits the next step. No specific wording or number of opening steps guarantees a result.
