# Set Fixed or Smart pricing for a script template

Choose how Substy prices a script template, set its asking and final prices, and understand how Smart pricing uses your final price as a floor.

Use Fixed pricing when you want to choose the asking price yourself. Use Smart pricing when you want Substy's AI to choose the asking price while respecting the lowest price you set. Choose **Free** when the media should be sent unlocked without a price.

## Open the Pricing section

1.  Go to CRM → Scripts.
    
2.  Open the script you want to work on.
    
3.  Open a template, or choose Add Template.
    
4.  Expand Pricing, then choose Free, Fixed, or Smart under Pricing mode.
    

## Set Fixed pricing

Fixed pricing gives you direct control over both prices:

-   **Asking price** is the first price offered for the template.
    
-   **Final price** is the lowest price the AI can send. A paid Final price must be at least $3 and at least $1 below the Asking price.
    

After you enter a positive Asking price, the Final price field appears. Enter both prices, then finish the rest of the template before saving.

## Set Smart pricing

Smart pricing asks you for one value: the Final price. This is your price floor. The AI chooses the asking price from the conversation and never goes below the Final price you configured.

1.  Choose Smart under Pricing mode.
    
2.  Enter the lowest price you are willing to accept in Final price, at least $3.
    
3.  Finish the rest of the template and save it.
    
## Choose a free or paid price

Choose the mode that matches how you want to send the template:

-   **Free:** Select the Free tab. No price field is needed, and the media is sent unlocked.
    
-   **Fixed:** Enter a paid Asking price of at least $3 and a valid Final price when required for the template.

-   **Smart:** Enter a paid Final price of at least $3.

Entering $0 in Fixed or Smart does not make the template free: the value is raised to the paid minimum when you leave the field. Use the Free tab instead. Maximum prices depend on the selected creator's platform.
    

## Troubleshooting

### I do not see the Final price field in Fixed mode

Enter a positive Asking price. Substy then displays the Final price field.

### My Final price is rejected in Fixed mode

Make sure the paid Final price is at least $3 and at least $1 below the Asking price. For example, with an Asking price of $10, a paid Final price can be between $3 and $9.

### The pricing controls are disabled

Changing pricing requires template-management access. If the controls are disabled, ask someone with template-management access to update the template.

### Smart mode shows only one price field

This is expected. You set the Final price floor, and the AI chooses the asking price from the conversation.
