# Set script rotation timing

Set the script rotation interval and understand what the timing does during active and inactive conversations.

Script Rotation Interval controls when Substy may close a stale or paused selling sequence so another eligible script can be selected later.

## Before you start

You need permission to edit AI settings for the selected creator. This setting has no additional paid-plan requirement.

## Set the interval

1. Open AI → AI Chatter and select the creator you want to configure.

2. In AI Core Settings, expand Behavior Settings and find Script Rotation Interval.

3. Enter a whole-hour value from 8 through 24.

4. Leave the field by clicking or tabbing elsewhere. The value saves when the field loses focus; there is no separate Save button for this setting.

## Understand the timing

- An inactive selling sequence can close after the selected number of hours without activity.

- If a selling sequence is paused after a refused offer, it can also close once the sequence itself reaches the selected age, even if the fan is still chatting. This lets the AI consider another eligible script instead of staying paused indefinitely.

- It does not promise a different script. The next selection depends on what is eligible for that fan.

The interval is checked when the AI processes a conversation. It is not a timer that sends a new script automatically at a scheduled hour, and it does not interrupt every active selling sequence at that hour.

## Troubleshooting

- The value did not save: enter a whole number from 8 through 24, then leave the field.

- A conversation did not switch at the selected hour: the interval is not a scheduled send. The sequence must meet an inactivity or paused-sequence condition, and the next script must still be eligible for that fan.

- Editing Script Rotation Interval requires permission to edit AI settings for the selected creator.
