# Set up Split Inbox and filters

Configure 2–9 Split Inboxes in Messages and use inbox, conversation, and sender filters.

Open **Messages** to configure Split Inbox and filter the conversation list. Split Inbox is available on **Pro** and **Elite** plans.

## Configure Split Inbox

1.  Open **Messages**.
    
2.  Open **Split Inbox**.
    
3.  Enable Split Inbox.
    
4.  Choose between **2 and 9** inboxes.
    
5.  Save the configuration.
    

When Split Inbox is enabled, unassigned conversations are automatically assigned as they load, favoring inboxes with fewer fans. Existing assignments are kept during this process; saving the configuration does not immediately distribute every conversation or guarantee equal inbox sizes.

## Filter by inbox

-   Select **Default (All)** to see every conversation.
    
-   Select one or more inboxes to show those inboxes in the same conversation list.
    

## Filter conversations and senders

Conversation filters include:

-   **All**
    
-   **Unread**
    
-   Available fan lists
    
-   **Handoff** when the selected creator uses Hybrid mode
    

When AI sender filtering is available, open **Sort & Filter** and choose:

-   **All**
    
-   **AI Only**
    
-   **Employee Only**
    

## If Split Inbox is unavailable

Viewing configured inboxes and changing the Split Inbox setup use separate access. If you cannot view inboxes or configure Split Inbox, ask an owner or admin to review your access.
